Dance Revolution

Keilah has been taking ballet classes for many years at YWAM Belmopan's dance studio, En Croix.  This is her second year as a teacher at that school and thoroughly enjoys it.  I see she lights up, just as much as the little ballerinas she teaches!  What a beautiful thing to see your children giving, from their heart, toward something they are passionate about.

She has grown tremendously over the past few months in her dance abilities and is currently training in pre-pointe.

An amazing opportunity has come up for her and the other teachers at En Croix to attend Dance Revolution in Orlando, Florida.  The Lord is at the forefront of everything Dance Revolution does, which makes their conventions incredible.  Not only is there high quality teachers and training, there is also spiritual input directed to these beautifully talented and gifted artists.

If you would like to be a part of sending Keilah to Dance Revolution and investing into her life please visit her "Go Fund Me" page.  (Alternate donation methods are available, just let us know!)

Thanks for your prayers as takes this great big leap of faith!

First Day of School 2014/2015

We made it through the first week of school and I am one incredibly proud mama. These three people are my life and I'm so blessed God gave them to me. I've learned so much from them as they each portray so clearly a different side of God's character. Belize Christian Academy, please watch over them nurture them as they grow and learn under your care.

Day 72

Today is the last and final day of summer vacation. It has been an amazing summer filled with special times together as a family and some fun and (some "not-so-fun") adventures. Sometimes we didn't DO anything but we were together and THAT made it fun, just like when Judah was in the hospital.

We don't need the "perfect" vacation to have fun, we don't need constant entertainment. My prayer is that we would make the most of every opportunity, time moves quickly. (The accompanying poem NAILS IT). Enjoy your family and enjoy this next year of school my friends!

Day 71

Overheard in my home "We are going back to school just in time, I'm starting to get bored with Minecraft." Really?! It only took 71 days?!

Gave Tanner a "back to school" haircut.

The boys went to YWAM to hang out with Mario and Eddie for the night.

Keilah hung out with Patti and her girls all evening

Day 65

Made Belizean fry jacks and beans for breakfast

Recipe here:
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
5 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp Shortening
1-1/2 cup water
Vegetable oil for cooking

Mix all dry ingredients together, cut in shortening. Add water to the dry ingredient mixture, kneed into soft dough. Make 10 balls of dough, cover and let sit for 20 minutes.
Heat 1-1/2 inches of oil in a pan. Roll out each ball like a thin pizza crust and cut a small hole in the center.  Gently place each "jack" in the oil, the dough will puff up and brown on one side, flip over to brown.  Remove from oil and start your next fry jack!  Serve with beans and scrambled eggs (or cinnamon and sugar if you're American!)

Went to church at Bethel Disciples International Church

Came home and made home made jalapeño poppers!  Wowza, those were hot!!

Went down to the Creek to cool off at the end of such a hot day!
