LEGACY - Taken (Price Paid)

We're living in a time where more leaders are being called upon to draw the line and fight not just to preserve Belize, but sharpen the dull areas and truly cut through as a leading nation for righteousness, values & truth.
We at Legacy is passionate about grooming the next generation of leaders to take their rightful place of leadership in all spheres of society. We'd like to thank you for the role you've plaid in the lives our Belizean youth and we’d like to come along side you by inviting YOU and YOUR YOUTHS to our summer conference. The Legacy Youth Conference will be held at YWAM Banana Bank Campus AUGUST 1ST –  4TH, 2013.  Conference cost is $45 up to July 22nd and $55 after for late registration.
The theme of the up-coming conference is “Taken – Price Paid”. The idea from a biblical stand point is, we’re not for sale, and we’ve been bought by Christ and belong to him. From a social standpoint, we [Belize] are NOT for sale. It is important for our youths to know who they belong to, that they are consecrated to be the Kingdom of God on this Earth. Also that Belize is our land and they can play a part in the future of our nation.
We look forward to hear from you and to seeing you over the Legacy conference weekend.

Word

Matthew 5:1, 2, 9-12 MSG

"When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said: "You're blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That's when you discover who you really are, and your place in God's family. "You're blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God's kingdom. "Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don't like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble."

For our Dear Friends

We are living in intense times, not only in Belize I’m sure, but we continue to push forward in the work God has called us to.  Over the past two years, as you know I have been co-hosting a daily talk show that quickly became the most popular show in Belize.
Not only is crime, corruption and mismanagement rampant in our country but now the strong homosexual agenda and abortion issues are taking center stage and threatening our nation’s constitution.  I have taken a firm stand in representing and fighting for traditional family values in Belize.  Somehow, I find myself on the forefront on this issue, fighting for truth and justice along with other “mighty men of God”.  I believe the years of YWAM training has empowered me for this season of my life.  I can’t remain silent while our moral foundation is under attack.
Over the years, I have been approached numerous times to consider running for office in our area.  I always brushed it off because I love the work I have been doing in YWAM.  However, over the last year the stirring has intensified in my heart, and in the past month our present government has boldly declared that they will become the liberal party in Belize.
Sara and I have prayed much and counseled with many about the possibility of serving in the realm of governance and feel a release to move forward.  While we know it won’t be an easy road we see the need for godly individuals of principle and integrity to represent our people.  We share with youth about the need to influence all spheres of society, and live out our Christian values in whatever area of society we function in.  I believe it’s my time to step out and be a voice in the area of government.  I have been training individuals who are more than able to continue leading Legacy and YWAM Belmopan and over the years we have built a strong team to carry these ministries to the next level.
Realistically, there will have to be a convention in November, however general elections will not be until 3 years.  We want to express our thanks to you for standing with us over the years in prayers and financial support. The next three months will be busy and if I win the convention in November it will still be two an a half years until general elections. November will be a big step in giving us more clarity about the future.  If you have any question please feel free to ask, as always we love and appreciate your input into our lives.

Blesssings to you and your family.

For God and Country,
Jason and Sara

As a member of the Peoples United Party and a resident of the City of Belmopan, I, Patrick Jason Andrews, hereby officially announce my candidacy for Standard Bearer, Peoples United Party (PUP), Belmopan Constituency.
