A Quick and Painless Andrews Update

Can you believe it’s the end of 2007? Where did the time go? A full recap of this year would be virtually impossible in an update like this! We spent last Christmas in Seattle, on break from School of the Bible in Texas. In July we drove back to our beloved country, YWAM base and friends in Belize. Upon arrival we were welcomed by our cousin, Arthur from Seattle who came to do the DTS. Days later our niece, Mirra arrived to spend a few months with us. Not long after that our parents came down for a visit as well. It’s a joy to have family and friends visit and experience life with us in Belize!

LEGACY and YOUTH We had several Legacy Conferences this year, each very powerful and impacting. We felt something shift in the young people as their hearts grew more confident in Who God truly is and continue to comprehend His love for them. For the record: it rained at EVERY Legacy conference this year, as it has since Legacy began! (See the kids swimming in the puddles below!) . Jason continues to speak at the high school in Belmopan, as other schools are calling to set up classes for the new year. This has been an amazing opportunity to touch the lives of the young people right where they are at. We are grateful to God for opening these doors and want to speak His love to these students.

DTS We had 8 wonderful students this year, 4 Belizeans and 4 North Americans. We are honored to lead the DTS each year, it’s and wonderful experience! Lecture phase was not easy but the students embraced the challenge and are radically transformed. For outreach the DTS helped with hurricane relief work in northern Belize, later went to Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Cuba. Jason jumped in at the last minute to lead the team to Cuba. It was a sudden trip but he was thankful to be able to touch Cuba again. Graduation was December 7th and we finished out that season with a sense of fulfillment and peace that comes upon completing a task given by God. These are tremendous students and we see much fruit in their lives, may all praise and glory be given to God.

YWAM BELMOPAN YWAM has prayerfully decided to purchase 4.5 acres of land in Belmopan. Presently, we have ample opportunity to speak into the lives of young people this land will help the focused effort of impacting youth in the capital and University of Belize. We believe God to help us raise $100,000bz by the end of the year. Our family will move into Belmopan to start the new YWAM campus as soon as papers are finalized. The vision for this piece of property is multi-facetted and we’re continually asking God for His strategy and plans.

YWAM DANCE STUDIO As a first step, YWAM purchased and now directs the Performing Arts Company in Belmopan which will eventually be located on the new YWAM campus. We have jumped in by providing covering to the students and teachers during class times, as well as made our selves available to chat with parents and students during this transition period. Our first performance will be in late spring, so you can pray for us as we pull all the details together for that. This is a new experience for all of us and we’re excited for what God will do as we serve these talented young children. We are eager to get to know the families better and seek ways to show God’s love to them, serve their children’s destiny and be an influence to the community. Keilah will also begin Ballet class in January.

HOME LIFE Home school continues to provide many challenges and successes. Judah is growing more interested in letters and phonics. Although he won’t admit it, he is bored when we’re not “doing school”! Keilah blazes ahead with her lessons and is impressing us with her new reading skills! Her excitement for learning is contagious, even Elijah practices his phonograms at the table with us. What a blessing to see their love for learning increase. We have the best “job” in the world showing the love of God through every aspect of their education! At the dinner table Judah said “I love school cause I get to learn about God”. Our children took horse riding lessons in the fall. It was a highlight of their week, and now Daisy (our family horse) is properly trained. We are seeing each of our kids passions and gifts develop and want to foster growth in each of them. What a fantastic opportunity we have daily to show God to our children and explain His love for them!

Youth With A Mission

Hello Everybody! We just wanted to introduce ourselves as we will be taking over the studio. We are Youth With A Mission, located across the swing bridge in Roaring Creek.

YWAM-Belize was birthed in 1978 by a team from the YWAM base in Salem, Oregon, USA; working in Unitedville – Cayo District. Based as a ministry on "The Showground’s" property, YWAM was known as "Project Lord" – an agricultural ministry (Long Range Development) working with agriculture and honeybees.
Presently, we run several different ministries within YWAM which include; Legacy Youth Ministries, Discipleship Training School, Project AIDS (we are currently in Comprehensive High School).
Our purpose in Belize serves the local church as well as international individuals and teams – equipping them and enabling them to fulfill Christ's Great Commission. The YWAM-Belize mandate is to fulfill the challenge of Ephesians 4:12: “…Equip the saints for the work of the ministry” and to mobilize people for world missions.
We are so grateful for the Yeagers and we know they will be greatly missed. They have poured much into our lives and we are all sad to see them go. However, it is with much excitement we look forward to this next season. Our heart is to serve the dance school where it is at right now, however, things will change a bit as we are a different people … yet we carry the same heart! Please bear with us as we learn and as we make the transition to run the dance school and serve you.

CLASSES:

·Christmas Break will begin after the 15th of December. We will re-open on the 7th of January.

·Amy Wu will be starting a Drama Class starting in the New Year. If you are interested please sign up in the studio.

Jason's goin' to Cuba

As you know the DTS and John George (one of our DTS staff) left for Cuba earlier this week. However, upon arrival at the Cancun airport the officials informed John that he didn't have the proper Mexican visas for re-entry. The DTS students went on to Cuba alone and have arrived safely, thanks be to God. There was a little mix up with pick up at the airport but all is well. All of this to say....
Jason will be flying out to Cuba on Friday. He left here here early Thursday morning to get his visas and proper documentation, met up with John to process new visas for him and the two of them will take a bus up to Cancun to fly out Friday at 2:30pm. Could you please pray for all of us!

- Jason and John's trip through Mexico into Cuba (favor, wisdom and angels!)
- The DTS students as they await his arrival (that they would have Peace)
- The time they spend in Cuba (For the team, the citizens and the duration of their time that beautiful country)
- Sara and the kids at home (it was a sudden trip and a very hectic preparation time so we're asking for special grace for the kids).

They will arrive Belize on December 2nd. Thank you so much, we love you all and appreciate your prayers of faith in this time.

Prayer Cover

I am sending out an email today requesting some prayer cover. The conference this weekend went GREAT. As you may remember it has rained for every Legacy conference since the beginning. However, Friday came and the arrival of the students.... but no rain. Saturday, no rain. Sunday, no rain. Monday morning still no rain. We were questioning if we had "missed" God somehow! John George got up to share in the last session. He began by saying "Let us recap what the speakers spoke on this weekend. Let's go over what God has spoken to us these past few days". As he said that a HUGE rain began to pour from heaven! It continued pouring rain like that for the next few hours until the campers were all gone, even then the rain only let up slightly! To us it seemed like an amazing confirmation of God's faithfulness and pleasure for these times. We were grateful for His presence and just want to please His heart. I will try to draft up a complete readout of the Legacy Conference and send it out today. As mentioned before we are requesting some prayer. It seems as though the enemy has kicked into "retaliation" mode this week. I don't believe he will sit back and be pleased with what is happening here. The conference this past weekend was incredible, lives were touched and the young people realized their authority and the love of the Father for them. The DTS just left for the last leg of their outreach (into Cuba). Things are progressing with purchasing the land, beginning with the Dance Studio. We had a wonderful meeting with them last night and feel God's grace and covering to continue moving forward. So we will, however we're feel some strong resistance. After speaking to a youth group is Spanish Lookout last night, a drunk driver ran into Jason's vehicle on his way home. Thank God nobody was hurt and Jason was in his big beastly Ford truck! (The same one that crashed after a Legacy youth worship time down south a couple years ago!) On the way home from taking the DTS to the Mexican border the van Santi was driving broke down at 1:00AM. (Jason out there helping them right now). Anyways, I could go on and on with the "symptoms" of the kick back but all we want to ask is that you will be praying for us and covering us as a ministry this week. We love you guys and are so thankful for you.

Exciting Steps

Many of you are aware of the vision we've carried over the last season of the need to establish a work in Belmopan, our nation's capital. Primarily, we feel to focus our efforts among young people and the University students. We know God is calling us to reach out to the University Students and bring strong kingdom influence, keeping in mind that many of our present and future leaders are coming from that institution. Presently, there are open invitations to speak in different high schools as well as other opportunities to speak into the lives of the young people in our Nation. By the grace of God “Legacy Youth Ministries” has been a key tool in discipling this generation. However, we are continually in prayer on how we can be more effective in the discipleship of our Nation. We have spent the last season praying for direction from the Lord on how to move forward and believe God has opened some amazing doors.

Last month we were approached by a friend who heads up a performing arts ministry in Belize. He felt his time in Belize has come to a close. However, over the course of time he was able to attain 4.5 acres of land in Belmopan, about 10 minutes walk from the University of Belize. He asked our YWAM Belize leadership team the heart and vision pertaining to the Arts and youth ministry. While praying about who to turn the land over to he met with several other ministries in Belize. The value of this land is around $275,000us but he is willing to give it a Christian organization for $50,000us, which is basically the cost of finalizing paperwork and legal fees. This week he approached us and said that he knows YWAM would have the hardest time presenting the money but feels strongly that God wants us to have this land.

As mentioned before, we feel strongly that it is time to establish an extension of YWAM Belize into the capital, where there would be a strong focus on discipling the future leaders of our nation attending University of Belize. We know there is more God wants to impart to this nation with Kingdom truth. God has placed Youth With A Mission in this nation at this time, we believe there is an anointing and authority to walk in that calling. We want to take our position and stand up for this generation and believe there are things we can do to facilitate change in this nation. We feel God has opened a door for YWAM Belize and don't want to miss the opportunity to fulfill our destiny. With that in mind we have begun the process of purchasing this land. Below are some ministry ideas we feel God has given us for the Belmopan property.

Vision for the "Power Center"
This word came to my mind as we stepped foot on the property and prayed that God would establish a work on that land that would be a "Power Center" for our nation and the Nations of the Earth. (A place where young leaders would be trained equipped and empowered for the fulfillment of their God given Destiny). We believe God will raise up a new breed of leaders in our Nation, He is building an army of young men and women of God that exist to serve the dreams of His heart and who radically impact all spheres of society. In time we believe that God will lead us to establish a house of prayer on this Property where young men and women will be in worship and intercession night and day before the Creator God for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Youth Drop in Center
Glancing at the city of Belmopan we see a high concentration of young people "hanging out" before and after school waiting for classes to begin or buses to arrive. By nature this city is a hub for youth because of the many schools and the university. I do not know of any place in Belmopan where our young people can go for good recreation in a Christian environment. We believe that God will use the Youth Drop in Centre as a tool to reach out to the youth of Belmopan. This will serve as a means to bring them into an environment where there is a strong Kingdom influence. We hope that many will be restored back into right relationship with God though this ministry. The drop in center will also serve as a place for our Christian youngpeople to gather and strengthen each other.

Performing Arts Dance School
We believe that in order be effective in reaching out to this generation it will take a deliberate step to actively empower youth to reach youth. This generation is full of creativity, given to them by Father God, and a desire to see it used for His glory. We believe it is God's heart to see the area of the Arts be further developed in our Nation. We hope to bring a Christian perspective of the Arts, focusing on heart purity and passion for our King. Focusing on heart purity these students will gain Biblical authority and receive God's purpose for the various art forms and will bring strength as they walk in their gifting and calling. Patti has expressed her strong hearts desire to see this vision become a reality in our Nation.
Housing for UB Students
Legacy has been growing and has developed strong relationships with many of the young people and youth leaders who are presently attending the University of Belize. Students come from all other districts to attend UB in Belmopan. In the future we hope to build at least two apartment buildings on the property which will provide secure housing on the YWAM campus for some of these UB students and will help provide income for the expenses of the campus. While pursuing a University degree these students will receive strong Christian support and fellowship as well as have opportunities to enroll in various YWAM schools providing credits for a Christian degree. Automatically, by living together we will establish relationship and times of discipleship will take place. Our vision is to empower this generation of leaders with kingdom values and principles that will result a transformation in all areas of society. As these students graduate and take their place in different fields of calling, change will begin to take place.
An Invitation
Thank you for walking beside us in faith and friendship through many years and many different seasons. Would you continue the journey with us and be a part of what God wants to do in this nation? Will you prayerfully consider making a sacrificial donation toward the purchase and development of the land in Belmopan? For more information or if you'd like to talk further about this project please feel free to email or call us. We would love to pray with you and join our hearts in faith for this next step.

October Legacy Conference Readout

Thank you all so much for praying for the Legacy Conference last weekend. It was an incredible time, below is a readout of the time together! We are so thankful that you believe God with us and fight for the upcoming generation of young leaders. What a blessing it its to give ourselves for God and others.
The conference began Friday evening with students arriving in the rain... again! You may notice that it rains the first day of EVERY Legacy conference! We are confident that it's God's confirmation that we're moving in the right direction! There were about 70 youth from a number of different churches including one new church that we've never connected with before. We emailed you a few weeks back about the decision to split the Legacy Conferences into 2 different age groups. (Thank God for His wisdom as we would have been overwhelmed if we had both ages groups!) We believe this strategy will help maintain a more solid, consistant standard of discipleship, giving more contact time with each youth. We also wanted to give opportunity to some of the stronger, older youth to help facilitate and serve in the November Conference for the younger age group. The response to that offer was overhelming and so encouraging, it looks like we'll have some helpers for the November conference! We are eager to begin working alongside these youth and multiply the truths and values God has given us.

The theme for the conference was "Free to Persue Your God Given Destiny". We invited Pastors from local churches to share with the youth. The message was precise and consistant throughout the whole weekend. There was special emphasis on the decision and choices that affect the different decades of our life. The challenge was put forth over and over to be "all out" for God leaving no room for mediocrity and walking the middle ground. Sunday night worship and response time finally had to be cut off at midnight, much to the youths dismay! There was such passion and transparency during the worship times, sessions and small groups! What a blessing to witness the cry of these young people and to see God come answer them individually, and corporately!

As you know the DTS was involved with the conference as well preparing, serving and helping to lead the small groups. They were SUCH a blessing and it would have been extremely difficult without their help. The youth took up an offering for the DTS outreach and gave $1,035.00! With joy these young people gave, some of them even solidified a call to "go" in this session! A number of young people approaced us later sharing their desire to do a DTS next year or in 2009! So exciting!

Finally, on Monday we sent them back to their home, back to their churches to serve and live the life God intends for them to live. Again, what a joy and a blessing to be a part of what God is doing in the nation of Belize. We are eternally grateful to Him and thankful for your joined faith. To God be the glory....

It's a Jungle out There

Well... here's the latest update from my mom who is visiting us for another month or so -

"Anyway, all thirteen chicks were running around and being chicks. Pooping, and pecking, trying to get in the house, a regular farm. I was a little concerned about the screen door, so I asked Keilah to put them away. It was getting dark anyway. Sort of rainy looking. So, she and Judah start catching them, and trying to throw them in the little pen without smashing them, or having them escape. You gotta be fast with the door. I got a bucket of feed, I am quite the chicken lady ya know, and clucked clucked them over to the door, a few accidently went under the cage, instead of in. so, Keilah and Judah were down on their hands and knees trying to grab the three or four that were still under the cage. Suddenly, Keilah is screaming, and Judah is running, and I am left there watching as they run away screaming "SNAKE!!!!" am a little slow at this point. Huh? I lean down, in my flip flops and look under the cage, and sure enough, there is something about as big around as my arm, wound up around baby chicken. All I could see is the wing. But, I did know it was a snake. Besides Keilah was by now in the house screaming " A snake is eating my chickens!!!" I kept my head, or perhaps not, but I reached under and grabbed the remaining, uneaten chicks, threw them, yes THREW! them in the cage and slammed the door, before I too joined the screaming frenzy!!!! I saw it. I almost touched it, I can hardly believe it at this moment. I yelled for John, the closest neighbor, no answer, Rich came out of the house with a broom! (Of all tings!) Judah was looking for an ax. Yes, 5 year old
Judah! Good thing he didn't find one! The kids were running around, I was trying to comfort Keilah and yelling for the upstairs teenage boy, and looking for a bag to breathe in al. at the same time. Sara and Jason were gone, and Elijah, Judah and the two other neighbor boys wanted to see the whole thing! Phillip came running down with his gun, but opeted to use the ax. He and Rich poked and got it out from under the cage, so we could all get a good look. BIG sucker! Long. The thing was biting the end of the broom even after it's head was cut off. He made quick work of the 4 foot boa, but alas... too late for the little chick. he didn't get to eat it though! HA! So the charmed life of Keilah's chicks seems to have come to an end. At least for one of them. I have no idea how the rest are. I haven't had the nerve to venture outside again yet. After all, "It's a jungle out there"!
The kids are fine. I am told, the snake is not venomous, but he definitely could have bitten them. But I say, he'd have to catch them first, I have never seen two kids move so fast! But we also know, as their Daddy told them, they are protected by angels all the time, and I definitely saw the evidence of that today. So, I am off to dream of large snakes, and little peeps. Sounds like I may need a nite nite pill!

sleep well, Love Indiana Sal

13 Baby "Peeps"

We had an exciting day here to day. In case you haven't heard, Keilah got some baby chicks. Cute little buggers. Growing fast. they live charmed lives. One got stepped on. We thought it broke it's leg, we didn't think it had much of a chance but it came back a few days later and you can't even tell which one it was. Another one, or maybe the same one, got stuck in the screen door. This was a bit more serious. It seemed to have a broken neck, couldn't hold it's head up. It couldn't even stand at first. But, just like the other one, day by day it came back. First it lifted it's head, then it drank some water. It stood up and propped itself up against the side of the box....sort of leaned in to the corner. To keep from falling. Some of us have been there, right? But it couldn't lift it's head still. But, by some miracle, it is now standing, and running, and eating and almost completely healed. Keilah had it out airing just today. Visiting with the other chicks. but they were a little rough still, so she is still in her private suite. Anyway, all is well with these newcomers, we're having a great time!

Operation Belize Mercy

Hey Guys,
Well, it has been a very busy two weeks for me as I have been working together with our Pastor Scott from our church to assist with relief work after Hurricane Dean. We have been trying to do all we can to help in a time of great need. The first week we just took trees off houses and roads and tried to help the people who had minor work to be done on the houses. Most days we have been working from sun up until dark. It has been very hard for me to see the kids and families who are left without a home - just living under a plastic tarp. We have been gatting a lot of rain which makes it that much more difficult for families to stay dry. Most family have done all they can to fix what they had. It's hard to do anything when you are a single mother with five kids. A lot of the house we have reached out to have been in that condition - single mothers and no father to be found.
This week we were able to take about four families out of the rain as we put new roofs on their houses. The families were so happy and blessed that we would do that for them. We took the opportuninty to let them know that Jesus cares about them and loves them and that is the reason we are here. If we did not put on those roofs I really do not know how long it would have taken for them to get help.
Please be praying for us as a Nation, that the Church would see the need to respond in this time. This will be my third week up in Corozol. It's hard to sleep at night knowing there are families who might be sleeping in the rain and mud. I took my family up last week so my kids could see and help in the clean up. It was a blessing for them to see what daddy was doing and why we do what we do, because people are the most valuable thing on the face of the earth.
Also please be praying for us, you might see that hurricane Felix is heading directly toward us. If this would happen I am unable to see the damage that would take place to our poor villages along the cost line. Also, if any one would want to help financially with building materials or would like to provide the money for a small house or roof please let us know. Please also keep our family in your prayers at this time. For wisdom and direction in this season and to know how and when to respond. We know we can not do everything but we know God's heart breaks for the widows, orphans and the poor. We want to be a light of hope in this hour to those who are in need.
Under His Authority,
Jason And Sara Andrews

Mom Arrives Tomorrow

YEAH! Mom flies in tomorrow. Me and the kids will be heading to the airport in the morning to pick her up. We're SO excited! I'm sure there will be lots of stories to come...!

Paying Duty on the Expedition

Hey! Well, I've got some wonderful news to share - another miracle with our vehicle.

We finally took the new vehicle up to the northern border to pay duty on Tuesday. You will NEVER guess how much they had us pay. Let me tell you the story.

We called the border a few weeks ago to get an estimate of how much duty would be for the Expedition. They said at the most it could be $13,000. So that is when we began to pray and ask for prayer and write letters and stuff. (Thank you for your faith... you'll see what God did...)

We went to the boarder Tuesday afternoon, after waiting FOREVER we finally got the vehicle assessed and they valued it at $14,000. (Duty is paid is 72% of the assessed value of the vehicle). After a series of events we finally finished the entire process and brought the paper to the customs boker. The end of the story is: we ended up paying ONLY $2,800bz ($1,400us)!

Can you believe it???? What a miracle huh?! We're still amazed about the whole situation and have seen the hand of God move on our behalf.

Just thought you'd like to hear the story of how God answered your prayers! We are so grateful!

Hurricane Dean - Category 5

Hello!!!

Thanks for standing with us in prayer over the past days. It was a little wild around here, getting things ready for the storm. Most it was the northern part of the country hit (HARD)! Our area and campus (Belmopan) are absolutely fine. Basically untouched. Jason is assembling a plan of action right now to head north for relief efforts in the next hour. He will head up there with other YWAM staff, DTS students, and young men from the village to help anyway they can. Basically the report from Corozol is LOTS of trees down, LOTS of wires down, LOTS of roofs blown away... (as they were 40 miles from the eye of a Category 5 hurricane). A LOT OF DEVISTATION. I will email updates when I can. The conditions will be rough for the next few weeks up there. Again, Jason and some other men with be heading up there to bring God's hope, help, encouragement, peace...and anything else we can to these communities.

If anyone is interested in helping out financially for this releif effort that would be great. All donations will go straight to releif aid. However, will not be tax deductible. Let us know if you are interested in giving, so we can process the finances quickly. Right now, we are taking up what we have. Things we would like to continually purchase for relief is: food, water, zinc for roofing, chainsaws, gas and oil for chainsaws, nails, hammers, tarps, etc, etc, etc.

We are fine here and want to be a blessing to our friends and fellow citizens in the Northern disctict. Keep in touch.

More LOVE!

Hey,Last year when I first attended Lagacy Youth Conference, I didn't know what to expect. Honestly, I thought that it was just another youth camp. But my perception of what Legacy was would soon be changed. My first night into the worship session was like something from out of a horror movie. To see teenagers act like that: praising and worshiping God so passionately. I thought to myself while watching them with a really scared look on my face, "...Lunatics!!!" I'm proud to say that by the end of that week in Lagacy, I too was a Lunatic. We were all Jesus Freaks. That week was nothing like I have ever experienced. It was extremely radical, both in the teachings and in the worship. I too was bowing my knees before God in total awe of Him, I too was actually writing notes in a teaching session. I couldn't even believe myself, "Am I actually doing this?" But I was, for I was changed, never to be the same again. I didn't care what anybody else would say about me, because God deserves the glory. Legacy was a week filled with breakthroughs after breakthroughs. I didn't think that I was capable of letting go so many wrong things in my life. I was dumbfounded by the awesomeness (if there is such a word) of God, literally stopped in my tracks by his sheere presence. It was truly amazing. Ever since then, my youths can tell you how much I encouraged them to attend the other Legacy. When I see them also worshipping God in a passionate way, it fills my heart with encouragement and hope for this generation...and also I little bit of pride. Legacy is something that I, and I'm quite sure everyone else who attended, will never forget.

A Testimony from Legacy

Below is one readout from a youth leader in our nation -

...for me it was when that young man from george town got bold and made a public statement to save himself for marriage becuase he now knew god's plan for his life. i realized that the holy spirit moved in his life and that legacy broke thru to this young man. ' if for one lost lamb,' he was worth it. i like to see young men step up. we must pray that he is keep tender to the lord and that the devil not infiltrate his life and mind.

Legacy Youth Conference

Hello everyone!
We just wanted to sent out a little message to remind you of the Legacy Youth Conference happening RIGHT NOW here at YWAM! This year we have over 100 in attendance with more to arrive later in the week. What an opportunity to speak Truth and Love into the lives of these young people who live in different areas of Belize. By the grace of God this nation will be changed and it can easily begin with these quality young people.

Could you all please pray with us for this conference? We really want to see God breakthrough this week and are desperately seeking Him for the pouring out of His Spirit into the hearts of this generation. Please stand in faith with us as we step out on behalf of these young people.

Thank you all again for the joining of your hearts and faith. We appreciate you so much!

Blessings and love,

A Miracle, a blessing

Hey Guys
About two weeks ago we asked for prayer regarding a vehicle to travel back to Belize in. Well, here it is! God has answered all of our prayers. Our good friends blessed us with their white, Ford Expedition. It’s a beautiful vehicle, with plenty of space for our family and visitors, the perfect car for years to come. We spent this past weekend with them, enjoying their loving hospitality, their wonderful children, and the pool! (As you can see by the pictures our children spent most of the weekend in the water!). In Keilah’s words “It’s just like heaven except we aren’t dead.” We thank God for this blessing and thank you for praying and believing with us. Rejoice and thank God with us for this miracle.
Also, please pray with us as we begin our journey back home to Belize this week. We have great hope and expectation in God for the next season of our life. Thank you for your friendship and for standing with us. Much love and prayers, Jason & Sara, Keilah, Judah & Elijah

Sara's 30th Birthday

It's been announced (numerous times by Jason) that I turned 30 years old last week. I thank God for the gift of life that He has given me. In keeping with tradition (or gifting?) I spent my day surrounded by beautiful children, as you can see in the typical "birthday song" picture. I had a great day and are so blessed by such great and loving friends and family.

Faith

Go figure,... Our devotion time this morning was about faith! "For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7
I was able to talk with the kids about what faith means in particular, what faith is in this situation with the truck. It was NEAT! Moms, you have such a great opportunity to speak Truth into your childrens lives and walk things through with them. They will see God come through for us this week. They are praying too...literally. It's so exciting to see them trusting God for miracles. I love being a mom.

Our little angel

Talk about natural beauty... she's got such a beautiful, loving heart too.

Here he is

Here is an updated picture of Jason, I told you I'd post a picture of our 30 year old birthday boy. Doesn't he look happy?!

Going away party

Well, today Church on the Move thew a "going away party" for us at Marvin Jr and Rachels house. It was so nice... so much food! (You guys over did it!) It was fun indeed though. The kids played on the slip and slide the WHOLE time so they truly enjoyed that. We enjoyed our time with COTM this year, and sitting around talking with friends is always the best! Thanks again for such a fun time, a wonderful year - you all made us feel so welcome. Many, many thanks and God bless you!

Judah's 5th Birthday

Here's the next birthday boy! He turned 5 years old on the 25th of May. It's incredible how fast time goes.... "just the other day he was a tiny baby..."!
He had a fun day though - it was HIS day so he got to choose whatever we did. He wanted Swedish Pancakes for breakfast and then lunch at McDonalds! We reluctantly agreed, but had a fun time in the end. He and daddy rented Batman movies from the movie store and had an "all nighter" that lasted clear 'till 10:00pm! Fun times! What a blessing he is to our family, such a caring loving ball of energy. We are so thankful to God for another year of life for our wonderful Judah.

Conference in Jamaica

Thanks to those of you who were actively covering us in prayer while I was in Jamaica attending our Regional DTS Centre for the Caribbean. The time in Jamaica went really well. By the end of the conference all of the DTS leaders and staff felt more capable and secure in leading a DTS. We took time to go through the guide lines and principles of running a DTS and we now have a more clear understanding of the heart behind a DTS. I was able to spend a lot of time one on one with different DTS leaders in building relationship and answering questions that they had regarding the DTS. There are presently two of us working with David Harper in heading up the regional DTS Centre for the Caribbean - myself and the DTS leader from St. Croix. This conference has been a learning experience for me but I know this is the place where God is leading us. We count it a privilege to have the opportunity to influence so many people in the different nations in the Caribbean. We are humbled to see God expanding the influence of the work He has called us to and more that ever want to ask you guys to be covering us in prayer as we know the enemy, by no way, will sit back while we uncompromisingly seek his dethronement and see our Lord and King receive the just reward for his suffering. Thank you for you continued prayers, we appreicate all of your friendship.

Another Birthday around the corner

We are about to celebrate ANOTHER birthday this week. Judah turns 5 years old Friday! Amazing. I'm starting to actually believe what everyone always told me - "they grow up so fast".

Another Birthday!

Just so you know Jason turned 30 years old yesterday. We celebrated with his favorite - cheese cake! It was a blast watching him really "do" his birthday with the kids. Played right along with their ideas of what a birthday party should be like! (He's such a terrific dad). Judah got him a spring action Star Wars sword that lights up and makes noise! You should see that battles we often have in the living room! Anyways, perhaps I can get a 30 year old birthday boy picture on here soon!

Happy Birthday Keilah!

Well, she's officially 6 years old now and just as beautiful as the day she introduced herself to the world. We are so thankful to God for this darling girl. She is such a joy and... A FIRE BALL! We love her so much.... My how time flies

Snow in April?

Did you guys know it snowed here the day before Easter??? It was such a blessing for the kids. There wasn't really enough to build a snowball, let alone a snowman but it sure was fun for an hour or two!

Legacy conference

It was just a beautiful time.... Thank you so much for praying with us and standing on behalf of this generation.

From a youth leader in Belize

Here is an email we received from a youth leader in belize. All glory to God our Father~

“i wanted to first say thanks to all of you who did so much work to bring the conference together. and a second thanks to the leadership who allowed (us) to not only bring the team in for only one night, but then to trust us and let us leave the kids we brought to the conference without us there. thanks from our hearts... i just wanted you all to know that the kids came back glowing and full of testimonies. i have yet to hear them all, but in particular was (a young girls) testimony about how she came home and sold her cell phone and threw out about 10 cds. she was so overjoyed at how quickly she responded to what she felt god speaking to her and knew it was right. it was all about the obedience and she was so excited to hear from god and then respond immediately. i only wish i could have been there to experience the weekend with them. we are excited about what god is doing down this way and we know that the fruit of what our "core" kids are learning there at legacy and getting to experience has a lot to do with the ground work that is being laid. thanks again to all and we can't express our gratitude enough for your hospitality… we really do feel like family when we are there at YWAM.”

Legacy conference readout

What a privilege to be in cooperation in this hour with the Holy Spirit in doing the will of the Father. I was talking to one of the young people and sharing of the privilege that God invites us as fellow worker with Him to bring many others into that place of right standing with Him also. One must be fully surrendered to His rule as rightful King of all the earth and that is the most wise and intelligent decision we can make in our life time. First God wants relationship with us, then as intimate fellow workers with Him He makes it possible for us to represent Him accurately in this hour.
We had a powerful youth conference with young people from over 10 different churches about 80 in attendance. The times of worship and the Word were incredible. You could feel and have a sense of knowing that God was present in our midst, in a real way, reaching out to this Generation in love and kindness. Those times resulted in sessions of deep repentance and a turning to God with our all. It was amazing. This has never happened in our Legacy Conferences before. Most of the time the young peoples take some time to get comfortable before really stepping forward but right after the first secession where Pastor Scott shared, 2/3 of the young people just responded in repentance. From that point on the presence of God only got stronger. Truly it is the love and kindness of God that bring us to repentance.
One of the things I believe was great in this conference was the young people were not only making a decision based on the emotions but from a place of understanding and reasoning from the Word of God. Truth that came forth, the messages were powerful and came with much conviction from the Holy Spirit. Our heart in Legacy has always been to see young people respond from a place of truth and understanding and not just from their emotions being awakened. We all know that we were never created to make choices from the realm of our feelings but from a place of understanding reality – truth. That is what I feel was different in this conference. The young people, from a place of true understanding, were able to embrace God as the all loving and wise creator and the rightful ruler of the universe. It was beautiful to see this Generation respond to God in deep repentance, acknowledging Him not only as their Savior but also as their Lord.
By the grace of God we are seeing this Generation reached by God truth. Thanks be to God our Father, Jesus our King and the Holy Spirit our friend. We want to say a special thank to all of you who have been praying for us and standing with us to see this Generation transformed and revival come to Belize. We touched into something new in this last conference. A special thank you to all the Legacy leaders and Youth Leaders for making this conference possible, it was made possible by all your hard work.
Leaving a clear set of footprints for Generations to come…

Happy Valentines Day

Did you have a nice Valentines Day? We had a fun day filled with notes, cards, emails, phone calls, flowers, chocolates, glitter, AND SNOW!!! No accumulations but we did have some flakes. It was so cute, all those tiny white "stars" falling from the sky. Cold as anything we've EVER felt but pretty to watch through the window!
LOT'S of love from us to you...

We got one!

So, here's the little "stinker"...
We haven't smelled any more, so maybe he was living alone under our house. Ocassionally he must have invited a cat or possom over for dinner because that is all we caught in the trap the first two nights. Then the third night we got him. What an interesting adventure. Pew! That is one of the nastiest smells we've EVER encountered - and right outside our front door! Yuck!

Skunk Hunt!

Yep, you read correct - SKUNK HUNT! We have a house mate... or "mates." The other night Jason and I heard a strange "scratching" sound come from under out house. We heard something sound like it was trying to come up the heater vent in our room. Soon after we heard some tiny squeeking and THE terrible smell associated with those vicious little black and white creatures! That explains why our room was always stinky (no matter how much I cleaned it)! And it also explains why the heat never seemed to be coming into our room, the skunks have torn the heating ducts to make their part of the house a little more cozy!
We have 3 traps set but so far all we have caught are the neighbors cats! We will be sure to keep you posted....!

A few thoughts from Jason

Below are a few thoughts that we pray would encourage and stir your heart to deeper level of pursuing God first and His purpose for our nations. (It's a bit long so... more thoughts in later posts).

I pray that all is well as we seek to cooperate with the Trinity and see the dreams of God become a reality in our Nation. Knowing that our King is the rightful ruler of all the universe and that He is the final authority brings strength to our hearts as we fight to secure the reality of His rulership in this world. May I encourage us that when we walk in obedience to Him it is not only a 'good thing' or a 'wise thing' we are simply living within our created design. This results in a life of peace and fulfillment in Him, having a loving relationship with Him and one another. God has a plan for our Nation and his heart longs to see man live their life in holiness and truth. Only then can we live up to our true value as beings created in his own image. Our purpose is to be in an intimate loving, internal relationship with God. ('Internal' meaning that God is not impressed with our external action if it is not flowing from a heart of intimacy and truth). So we lean forward in doing physical works with the motivation to bring joy to his heart and to advance his kingdom.
But history has shown us how easy it is for us to get carried away in just work and going through the motions. We seem to end up trying to relate to God by our physical actions or external endeavors. No one is exempt from this, that is why I believe Paul encouraged us to examine ourself to see wheather or not we remain in the faith. Keeping our priority of seeking His face and hearing His voice is so essential for kingdom advancement.
I share this so we can see how great of a responsibility we carry to see the next Generation discipled and our Nations transformed. Some things for us to keep in mind...

HAPPY NEW YEAR TOO!!!

On New Years eve we all stayed up to ring in the New Year (even the kids)! We made funny hats, ate Chex Mix and watched the fire works at the Space Needle on TV. We had a blast and then ran home to jump in bed. I would be willing to bet we were in bed by 12:15am! Anyways, it was fun - you can tell by our pretty hats!

Back in "Rose City"

Hey everyone! We're back in Tyler, Texas (aka "Rose City"). We had great flights down here. On the second flight there were only 8 passengers (keep in mind we are a family of 5)! The flight attendant asked us to move to the back of the plane to help distibute the weight. (Should I be offended????!) Thanks for your prayers.... more later, it's time to play with Thomas the train!

Tuesday, January 2, 2007

We went up to Bon John pass this weekend for a fun filled day of sledding and playing in the snow (since it didn't snow on the Island the ENTIRE time we've been here).

Jason finally did something he's always wanted to do - have a good cup of coffee in the snow!

We all had a great day! Thanks mom, dad, Danny and Suzy... for making the trip up there with us! It was most memorable...!

Hey! Merry Christmas from the Andrews and have a blessed 2007!
